prop list

In our thriller we only intend on using two props, as opposed to convential thrillers our killer does not use a murder weapon as they are not human and in fact are a creature.

The two props we wish to use are:

1. i-pod/mp3 player
2. mobile phone

We will use a standard mp3 player as it is not truely significant to the piece, it is only used to continue continuity in the play.

The mobile phone will also be standard, it will not be a top of the range model as our character is not wealthy, it will also have a clear screen so the number and caller can be seen clearly.

Our main character the "teenager" will use both of these props.

The mp3 player is seen through all of the shots where as the mobile is only used in shots 8-11.

the following are conventional and non-conventional forests associated with thrillers, these are very similar to which we wish to use for our thriller:

location, costume and prop research

Location:-

• Dark, grotty underground areas.
• Derelict stations/woodland.
• Night time
• Dense areas of forestry
• Abandoned warehouses
• Cages (fight arenas)
• Mental hospitals
• Prison

(NOTE: 'Tormented' challenges the convention of horror thrillers... it is set mostly in the day light, and adds an element of comedy. Still midnight graveyard scenes though, so not completely unconventional.)

Costume:-

• Women tend to wear very little... i.e. "enough to cover the important bits, but as little as possible to keep you interested." (NOTE: Women rarely seem to be older than 30 in horror thrillers.)
• Young men tend to wear adequate clothing for most of the film... although the occasional action sequence may find the male heroes topless.
• Older men tend to be fully clothed at ALL times during the film (we're talking jackets, heavy trousers, dress shoes, hats...)
• Clothes are often dull, or just gradient, i.e. black, white, etc.
• Bad guy characters often have concealed faces (they don hoodies, bandanas, robes, masks, etc...)

Props:-

• Weaponry tends to be melee within horror thrillers... axes, swords, machetes, clubs... none of these are unheard of within the genre.
